"There Are Things You Shouldn't Realize" is the eighth episode of the second season of the Masamune-kun's Revenge R anime. It was released on August 21, 2023.

Summary

Masamune helps Yoshino after she sprains her ankle and Aki meets with Gasou.

Plot

Aki gets hungry and goes around looking for Yoshino to make her some food. She finds her sister, Narino, which explains that Yoshino went shopping. Aki doesn't recall if she asked her to buy something, but Narino explains that she send her and also told her to buy something for herself, otherwise she won't buy herself anything since she is stuck in errand girl mode.

Masamune sees that the girl who fell is Yoshino. Yoshino then stands up and tries running away, but steps badly and falls again. Masamune realizes that she strained her ankle and lifts her to take her home, but she punches him with a brass knuckle. Yoshino tries to act like she is fine, but struggles to get up and falls again. She agrees to be carried by Masamune, but asks him to be at least a piggyback ride.

Kikune, Kaneko and Mari have a meeting with Aki, but she is being late. They complain that three of the last 5 meetings were cancelled. Kaneko blames Masamune, since this started to happen after rumors starts of Aki and Masamune dating. Kikune and Kaneko still believe that Masamune is tricking Aki and plan to ask Aki why she is going out with him. Mari states that if Aki has actually feelings for him, she may see their worries as nuisance. While they wonder what to do, Aki shows up and Mari drops the subject and greets Aki.

While carrying Yoshino, Masamune feels her chest on his back, but can't complain about it as he feels she will kill him on the stop. Yoshino then stops him and tells him to go to the nearby park where she can rest. Masamune states its not a problem for them to continue, but Yoshino complains that she is with a skirt and people may see her panties. Meanwhile, Aki apologizes for the girls, explaining that she has been busy recently. The girls struggle on how to ask her about Masamune. Kaneko can't hold it anymore and directly asks if she is dating Masamune. Blushing Aki admits it. The girls realize she has an embarrassed face of a girl in love, a face they have never seen from Aki before, but they also love that side of her.

Yoshino asks Masamune on why he chased away Aki on Christmas Eve. Masamune tries to act that he just wrapped the evening early to make himself more desirable, but Yoshino doesn't buy it. She explains that Aki is super depressed and asks him if he can promise to throw her on bed the next time he sees her, but Masamune can't promise that. Masamune then gets an idea, he touches Yoshino's hands and then hugs her. He sees that he don't get hives and states that he believes he had the most fun while devising his plan with her and shouldn't have gone out with Aki. Yoshino then headbutts him. On her way back, Aki meets Kanetsugu, who asks her if they can talk for a bit.

Masamune wakes up, but doesn't see Yoshino. He takes his phone and on the reflection of his screen, he sees that Yoshino wrote on his face that she will pretend he didn't say that. He agrees and regrets saying it. Kanetsugu apologizes to Aki, knowing that she can't fully forgive her. Aki had heard that Kanetsugu worked things out with her father and about her sister, and adds that there is nothing to forgive as she isn't mad about it and all is in the past. Kanetsugu states that Aki is strong, but Aki doesn't believe it. She explains that Kanetsugu had something to protect and was ready to sacrifice everything, but she isn't like that as she didn't knew she was hurting someone. She now knows, but can't do anything and isn't brave enough to accept that fact. Kanetsugu realizes she is talking about Masamune, and states she is surprised that the two started dating. However she tells her that she can't lie to her heart. Kanetsugu believed that maintaining the family financial power and status was the way to protect her family, however she was lying to herself. When Aki found out, it became clear to Kanetsugu that family financial power and status means nothing, and the only thing that mattered was her little sister. Kanetsugu asks Aki if she can't accept her own feelings as she can't end up like her.

Aki goes back home. She sees Yoshino and wonders if she brought herself something nice, but Yoshino reveals that she twisted her ankle. Worried, Aki then applies some first aid and tells her to go to the hospital tomorrow. Yoshino feels like a traitorous witch. She recalls what happened today and Masamune's words, but states she absolutely must not let that happen. As she cries, she wonders why he even said that.
