Asae Makabe is the sister of Kinue Hayase and the mother of Haruka.
Appearance[]

Asae Makabe is a woman of average height with light brown hair and brown eyes. Altough she looks quite similar to her sister Kinue Hayase, Asae looks much more like an adult.
Similar to her daughter, Asae was seen wearing hair accessories.
After wearing a pigs pajama with her sister and daughter, she appears much smaller and looks almost identical to them. Her voice also changes.
Personality[]
Asae has a happy and caring personality, a trait that she shares with her sister Kinue, although she is a bit more mature.
She is also very open and doesn't mind talking about her wish to have had an older brother for Haruka. She also considered giving it another try.

Asae joins the fray
Asae and her daughter first appear in episode 13 (OVA) where Masamune mistakes Haruka for his mother by accident.
As Masamune returns home, Haruka awaits and immediately tries to hug him. Masamune mistakes her for his mother and throws her to the ground. As Haruka begins to cry, Kinue tries to console her, as well as scolding Masamune for being mean to the little girl.
As Chinatsu arrived, she immediately thought that Masamune was picking on their mother, making her cry. She then grabs her brother by the collar and shouts at him.
Asae then appears and makes the remark that Masamune and Chinatsu are as close as ever.
Later in the episode, Chinatsu brought some costumes for Haruka and Kinue to wear. Chinatsu decided to take pictures of both her mother and cousin in various costumes.
Masamune is not happy about it but it gets worse as Asae joins the fray, wearing the same pig pajama as Haruka and Kinue.
Etymology[]
- Asae's surname Makabe means "real, genuine" (真) (ma) and "wall" (壁) (kabe).
Trivia[]
- It was revealed that her last name is Makabe in OVA Episode 13 (by Chinatsu).
- She is probably a shape-shifter.
